Hornibrook 6 for 5 Essex Rout’. Large original newspaper poster for the ‘Home’ edition of the [London] Evening News, dated 8th May 1930. The poster measures approx. 20”x30”, framed and glazed overall 24”x34”. Horizontal and vertical folds, with small loss to right edge and top corner, otherwise in good/ very good condition.
The poster refers to the Australians’ tour match against Essex played at Leyton, 7th- 9th May 1930. Percy Hornibrook ended the first innings with figures of six wickets for eleven runs off nine overs with Essex being dismissed for 67. He took a further four wickets in the second innings, returning match figures of 10/40, the Australians winning by 207 runs.
