Albert Craig ‘The Surrey Poet’. Five items relating to Albert Craig, the cricket rhymester. Five page typescript for a B.B.C. Radio broadcast of ‘Cricket Lovely Cricket. A.C. Cricket Rhymester by John Arlott’. Recorded 3rd August 1961 for transmission 22nd August 1961. Originally David Rayvern Allen’s copy, bound in green cloth with leather title label to front. ‘The Cradle of Cricket. A Hambledon Souvenir’, W.R. Weir, published by Wright & Co., Paternoster Square 1908, with a preface by Albert Craig. Tipped in to modern pale blue cloth, original wrappers retained. Padwick 900. Mono postcard of ‘The Late Albert Craig, Surrey Poet’, Mockford of Tonbridge, postally unused. ‘The Essex County Ground’, four page folded card with image of the Leyton ground and article by Craig. Split at fold, loss to edges. ‘Kent in their proper place’, 62 line printed verse sheet with introduction by Craig, relating to Kent’s successes of 1906. Loss to left edge partially affecting the text. Some faults as described, otherwise in good condition.
