Yorkshire County Cricket Club archive circa 1860’s to 1960. A large and comprehensive coverage of Yorkshire County cricket covering the century comprising a large quantity of eighteen large ledgers and scrapbooks containing news cuttings and images recording matches and regarding the club in the period. Some original team photographs, postcards, letters to secretary etc and scorecards, all laid down to pages. Includes original photographs of the 1925, 1926 (large Wilkes photo), 1927, 1928 (large Wilkes photo), 1934, 1935, 1936, 1937, 1946, 1947, 1948, 1949, 1950, 1953, 1954 Yorkshire teams and some individuals including Roy Kilner, George George Macaulay (3), T.A. Jacques, Maurice Leyland, Percy Holmes, Arthur Mitchell, Newstead, E.J. Radcliffe, Major W. Booth, B.B. Wilson, plus Yorkshire v Australians 1926 (Yorkshire team walking out to field), Yorkshire v Middlesex at Lord’s 1929 (3), Hedley Verity bowling, early copy photograph of the 1875 Yorkshire team, James Lillywhite’s team to Australia 1876-77, Yorkshire 1877, bookplate photograph of Richard Daft’s English Cricketers 1879, Yorkshire 1883, 1886 to 1890, 1895, 1909, 1912, 1914, 1920, (some by Fieldings of Leeds). An Original photograph of J.T. Brown and Tunnicliffe in front of the scoreboard having made the record first innings stand of 554 runs in August 1898, original Chevallier Tayler lithographs 1905 of Hawke, Hirst, Jackson, Rhodes, Haigh and Denton laid down to pages, original photograph of the Hull Town C.C. team c1907, with Hawke, Smith, Jackson etc included. Also some coverage given to the Test matches of the period. Some faults, evidence of the removal of some photographs from the albums otherwise in good condition. This archive was compiled by Mr H.J. Trowsdale who lived in London and was an avid Yorkshire cricket supporter
