Cricket ephemera selection. Green presentation folder containing a miscellany of original and copy ephemera. Original items include an early printed page extract of a poem titled ‘Kipling on our Champions of English Pastimes “Flannelled Fools at the Wicket”; “Muddied Oafs at the Goal”’, a thirty line parody by Albert Craig, ‘The Surrey Poet’, of Rudyard Kipling’s ‘The Islanders’ of 1902. Printed scores of the first four Test matches of the 1934 Ashes series ‘Presented with the Compliments of the Editor’ (publisher unknown). Two printed ‘wagon wheel’ diagrams, one of ‘Hutton’s Scoring Strokes’ in his record innings of 364, the other of Leyland’s 187, both for England v Australia, 5th Test at The Oval, 1938. An early original aerial photograph of a ‘View of Port Maria showing the Middlesex C.C. Oval- Palmer’s Park [Jamaica]’ with handwritten dedication to lower mount corner by the Club Secretary, and printed history of the club to verso, dated 1926. An attractive Victorian colour lithographic print of a calendar for ‘May’ with colour floral decoration and engraved cricket scene by Salter Severn, 9.25”x12.5”, wear to one corner. Mono ‘Photo-print’ by Waterlow & Sons of ‘The Yorkshire County Eleven [1888], 11.75”x8”, some loss. 21pp copy typescript of a biography of David Denton (Yorkshire & England 1894-1920), author unknown. Eight original pen and ink cartoons by unknown artist etc. Odd faults as described, otherwise in good condition.
