Warwickshire C.C.C. miscellaneous correspondence 1950s-1990s. A selection of approx,. twenty letters to and from Warwickshire Secretaries Leslie Deakins, Alan Smith and David Heath. Letters include J. Paul Getty Jr. offering to make a contribution towards the building of the R.E.S. Wyatt stand at Edgbaston, 1992. Typed copy letter from Deakins to Frank Chester on his retirement as a first-class umpire in 1955 with attached press cutting, and two handwritten replies from Chester. Dickie Bird sending thanks for congratulations received on being awarded the O.B.E. 1986. Wilf Wooller and Colin Cowdrey both replying to details sent of the Peter Cranmer Memorial Service 1994. Jack Birkenshaw enclosing payment for Jack Bannister Benefit ties etc. Other signatures of former Warwickshire players include Jack Hossell (Warwickshire 1939-1947), Ray Hitchcock (Canterbury & Warwickshire 1947-1964), Maurice Barker (Warwickshire 1946), also Don Bennett (Middlesex 1950-1968 & Arsenal F.C.), Doug Insole, Brian Close, Sebastian Faulks of the Daily Telegraph etc. Odd minor faults, otherwise in good condition.
