Joseph ‘Joe’ Hardstaff. Nottinghamshire & England 1930-1955. Lord Tennyson’s tour to India 1937/38. Navy blue cloth cricket cap, by E.G. Devereux of Eton, with embroidered family arms of Tennyson emblem to front, worn by Hardstaff on the tour. Name handwritten to inner label. Minor wear internally otherwise in good/very good condition. A rarely seen pre war tour cap
Lord Tennyson’s tour to India 1937/38 was a success, Tennyson’s team winning the three of the five unofficial ‘test’ matches. Hardstaff came second on the batting averages for the tour with 39.22
