John Tanner Neve. M.C.C. 1936. M.C.C. navy blue touring blazer worn by Neve on the M.C.C. tour of Canada in 1937. The blazer, by Devereux of Eton, embroidered with the M.C.C. emblem in white of St George & Dragon of England and below in scroll ‘Canada 1937’ to breast pocket. Trimming to the blazer edges, pockets and sleeves in M.C.C. colours of yellow and red. Name ‘J.T. Neve 1937’ handwritten to label below makers label to neck of the blazer. Some minor moth holes to blazer, minor wear and some slight fading to the colour trimming otherwise in good condition.
John Neve played one first class match for M.C.C. v Ireland in 1936. He was chosen to play for M.C.C. on the tour of Canada. The tour party were all amateur’s and played twenty matches in a month. The matches were not regarded as first class
