George Geary. Leicestershire & England 1912-1938. ‘What a Bat’. A Gunn & Moore ‘Autograph’ cricket bat used by Geary during his playing career, the vendor suggests around 1925 in his notes. The bat was presented to William Sherwin, bat maker of Nottingham, son of the former England wicket keeper Mordecai Sherwin. It is inscribed boldly to the length of the blade ‘Dear Mr Sherwin. What a bat. No-one could wish for better one. In fact, one could not find a more perfect one. Can you do anything with it. Yours faithfully G. Geary. Geary has also signed the shoulder of the bat. Sold with the late vendors research notes giving further information on the bat. Good original condition
