The Cricketers of Vanity Fair’. Excellent collection of thirty one original colour chromolithographs of cricketers, all of those in cricket attire, as listed by John Arlott in ‘The Cricketer’, 22nd August 1953. The cricketers are as listed by Arlott,-Grace, Spofforth, Lord Harris, Bonnor, A.Lyttelton, Read, Philipson, Hornby, Stoddart, Woods, Lord Hawke, Baldwin, Ranjitsinhji, Wynyard, Jessop, Jephson, Abel, Jackson, Paliaret, Hirst, Warner, Bosanquet, Lord Dalmeny, Hayward, Spooner, Tyldesley, Gillingham, Wells, Hutchings, Blythe and Hobbs. The chromolithographs are all loose and presented in a large black files, odd ones with copied biographies. Some wear, nicks and minor marks to the border of odd prints otherwise in generally good/very good condition
The ‘Vanity Fair’ magazine appeared on a weekly basis from November 1868 to January 1914.
