‘Four Middlesex Centurions 1920’. Excellent and attractive original mono photograph of the four Midddlesex batsman who scored a century v Sussex at Lord’s in the first innings of the match played 22nd-24th May 1920. Midddlesex scored 543-4 declared with Pelham Warner (139), Henry Lee (119), Jack Hearne (116no) and Nigel Haig (131). The photograph, by Sport & General, shows the four players stood in line in similar pose, wearing caps, with bats under their arms in front of four sets of stumps, analysis of players scores handwritten to lower border. Laid down to photographers mount. Handwritten inscription to photographers mount ‘Presented to the Middlesex County Cricket Club by E.H.D. Sewell [cricketer and author] July 5th 1920’. Middlesex won the game by an innings and 130 runs. Mounted, framed and glazed, overall 22”x18”. Light vertical centre crease to photograph. Good condition
