Original mono press photograph of the New Zealand opener, Stewie Dempster, hitting out against the bowling of Gubby Allen during the drawn first Test played at Lord’s 27th- 30th June 1931. Jack Mills is at the non-striker’s end. Nicely signed in black ink to the photograph by both Dempster and Mills. 8”x6”. Sport & General, London. Ex J.W. Goldman collection. Includes a trimmed handwritten caption from the original album page. Adhesive marks to verso where previously laid down, otherwise in very good condition.
