‘Eton v Harrow at Lords’. Sir Home Gordon. London 1926. Harrow limited edition of 325 copies, this being number 56. Original decorative blue cloth covers with gilt title and emblems to front and spine. Some wear and bumping to boards, otherwise in good condition. Sold with three carte de visite photographs, two depict Harrow School teams, one dated to verso 1872 with players’ names annotated in pencil, the other undated but of the same period. Notable players featured include A.J. Webbe (Oxford University, Middlesex & England 1875-1900, 1 Test), A.A. Hadow (Middlesex 1872, 1 match), P.F. Hadow (Middlesex 1873-1874, 7 matches), H. Leaf (Cambridge University & Surrey 1876-1877, 5 matches), and C.C. Cottrell (Middlesex 1876-1886). The other photograph is a head and shoulders portrait of Ronald F. Vibart. Each measures approx. 4”x2.5”. All three by Hills & Saunders of Harrow. Fading to one team photograph, other odd faults, overall in good condition. Qty 4.
