‘Forty Seasons of First-Class Cricket being the Autobiography and Reminiscences of Richard Gorton Barlow’. R.G. Barlow. First edition, Manchester 1908. Original green cloth with gilt title to front and spine and gilt illustration of Barlow to front cover. Signed in ink to the third end paper by A.N. Hornby, and handwritten dedication in ink in Barlow’s hand to the title page, ‘With the Author’s Compliments’, suggesting that Barlow presented this copy to his fellow Lancashire opening batsman, Hornby. Sale plate for H.A. Cohen to first end paper. Slipped in is an original receipt for the sale of this title to Cohen by Epworth Secondhand Books, City Road, London. Padwick 7298. Minor breaking to rear internal hinge, slight fading to spine, otherwise in good/ very good condition.
