‘Gentlemen v Players’, Percy Cross Standing, Wright & Co, London 1892. Bound in three quarter leather binding (worn) with original decorative card wrappers. This book was originally in the library of A.J. Gaston, cricket collector of Brighton and has his handwritten notes to many pages, in addition there are handwritten notes, corrections and additions made by Arthur Haygarth, author of ‘Cricket Scores and Biographies’ and by F.S. Ashley-Cooper. The Ashley-Cooper notes usually initialled by him. The book was bought in Sotheby’s sale of the 28th January 1969. Some breaking to internal hinges otherwise in good condition
