South African tour to England 1907. ‘Kent v. S. Africans (June 1907)’. Early sepia real photograph postcard of the match in progress with the pavilion in the background, played at the Private Bank’s Ground, Catford, 24th- 26th June 1907. Bells’ Photo Co., Ltd., Leigh-on-Sea, Essex. Some fading to the image, otherwise in very good condition.
The South Africans won an exciting match by just two runs. Following on having been bowled out for only 95, and with a first innings deficit of 178, they reach 281 in their second innings and then bowled out Kent for 101 to record a narrow victory.
