‘Somerset XI’ 1903. Mono printed postcard of the Somerset team, standing and seated in rows wearing various cricket blazers, with title to lower border. Wrench Series 3279. Signed to verso by seven Somerset players from the turn of the century. Three of the players are featured on the postcard and are Captain Sammy Woods (1886-1910), Lionel Palairet (1891-1909) and Len Braund (1896-1920). The other four signatures are of Henry Martyn (1901-1908), Fred Lee (1902-1907), Humphrey Burrington (1903-1905) and Frank Phillips (1897-1911). Five of the signatures are signed to the back of the postcard in ink, the ink signature of Phillips is on a piece laid down and the pencil signature of Braund is on a piece and also laid down. Minor marks to the corners of the face of the postcard otherwise in good condition. Some early cricket signatures, not often seen
