‘Nottinghamshire Cricket and Cricketers’. F.S. Ashley-Cooper. Nottingham 1923. Original green cloth covers with gilt titles to front and spine. Presentation copy with handwritten dedication to ‘Geo. N. Beattie Esq. with the author’s best wishes’. Laid down to the inside front cover is a two page handwritten letter from Ashley-Cooper to Beattie, dated 18th November 1925, acknowledging the help given by Beattie, and references to Scottish cricket. Padwick 2498. A good association copy in very good condition.
George Beattie was a founder of the Scottish Cricket Union and arranged matches in Scotland with Australian touring teams from 1905 to 1921.
