‘The Cricket Handbook’ 1893-1895. Three original copies of the handbook issued in 1893 (first year of issue), 1894 and 1895 (final year), published by the Cricket Field Offices in the ‘Pastime Series’. Each issue with original paper wrappers (the 1895 appears to have a replacement rear wrapper and spine) and all contained together in modern clamshell box in leather and marbled boards. The 1893 and 1895 issues with the bookplate of A.E. Winder. The 1893 with additional bookplate of a bee and initials ‘J.L.’ to front wrapper for an unknown owner. The 1895 issue with annotation in ink to front wrapper ‘Compiled by J.B. Payne’ with handwritten annotations in ink to some pages, assumed to be in Payne’s own hand. Padwick 1044. Small losses and wear to wrappers, otherwise in good condition
