Original printed buff front wrapper with printed title to front. Replacement rear wrapper and spine, some wear and creasing to original front wrapper, rounding to corners, ancient names written to front wrapper, ink inscription to inner wrapper which has stained onto the title page, minor soiling and foxing to inner pages otherwise in good condition. First edition of the earliest collection of player biographies. Dedicated to ‘the Noblemen and Gentlemen, members of the Marylebone Cricket Club’, it is largely about Denison’s contemporaries, though beginning with the earlier figure of Alfred Mynn. Padwick 876 & 7201.
