Sussex C.C.C. 1935-1939. A selection of ephemera relating to Sussex cricket including an original business card for Alfred J. Gaston, “Leather Hunter” of the Sussex Daily News, ‘Publicity Agent Sussex County Cricket’. Two original official scorecards for matches played at Hove, both with complete printed scores, one for the County match Sussex v Lancashire 28th- 30th July 1937, Eddie Paynter scoring 322 for Lancashire in their victory by an innings and five runs, the other for the drawn tour match v Australians 27th- 30th August 1938. Also an official 28pp printed ‘Report and Accounts for Season 1936’ dated 22nd February 1937 with unused Membership application form, four single sided official fixture cards for seasons 1935, 1936, 1938 & 1939, and another for 1938 produced by the Sussex Daily News, and two copies of original cuttings from the Sussex Daily News featuring an image of the Sussex team walking on to the field for the opening match of the 1938 season, v Somerset at Hove, players names annotated to top of both. Good condition.
