A bat with solid cane handle c.1890. Impressed to the face below the splice ‘All Cane’. The back of the blade is gently humped, flattening out towards the toe. The blade is bound in four places. The bound handle is solid unsplit cane. Maker unknown. 34.25” in length, weighing 2lbs 3oz. Sold with the late vendors research notes giving further information on the bat. Good condition.
‘All cane’ bats were popular in the early 1890s and considered ideal for club use, but it is rare to find an example of a handle with a single unsplit cane.
