Cricket ball presented to Jack Hearne following his highly successful cricket season in 1896 where he finished top of the bowling average for the season. The ‘Cobbett ‘Best Match’ cricket ball with details of his achievement in gilt lettering and numbers reads ‘1898. 222 Wickets. Av[erage] 14.05’. hearne bowled 1802.3 overs of which 781 maidens, conceded 3120 runs, taking 222 runs with the average of 14.05. The ball in very good condition. A unique cricket ball
