Albert Chevallier Tayler (1862-1925). Large sepia toned print, mounted to card, of a painting of Lord James of Hereford wearing robes sitting in a chair, presumably by Chevallier Tayler, the print with family crest to corner with the motto ‘Vim vi repellere licet’ (It is lawful to repel force with force). Signed to the lower border by Chevallier Tayler and also in ink on white card laid down by ‘James of Hereford’. Undated, but appears to be early 1900s. Rarely seen signature of famous cricket artist Albert Chevallier Tayler. Overall 14”x16”. Formerly in the M.C.C. Collection. (Updated description due to further research.)
