‘Cricket in Argentina 1930-1942’. An excellent selection of ninety two photographs, of which eighty eight are original mono press photographs by South American photo agencies, depicting teams, matches in progress, players, officials, spectators etc., some with press cuttings laid to the photograph. The majority depict matches at the Hurlingham Club, Buenos Aires, including teams and matches from Sir Julian Cahn’s tour to South America March/ April 1930, also Hurlingham Club v Old Etonians and v Buenos Aires 1932, v Belgrano, v Old Georgians and v Lomas 1933, v Pacifico and v ‘H.M.S. Norfolk and H.M.S. Exeter’ 1934, South American Team to tour England March 1932, ‘North v South’ 1932 & 1933 etc. Other cricket clubs featured include San Isidro, Campos, Lomas, Rosario etc. The majority measure approx. 9.5”x 7”, all loose mounted to black album pages inserted in later folder with gilt title to front cover. Tear and nicks to the odd photograph, otherwise in good/ very good condition.
