Surrey C.C.C. 1877. Two early original scorecards for Surrey matches played at Kennington Oval. One for the match v. Gloucestershire 7th & 8th June with complete printed and handwritten scores in ink. Surrey (110 & 160) lost to Gloucestershire (226 & 45/1) by nine wickets. W.G. Grace (4 wickets) and his cousin, W.F. Gilbert (6) shared the first innings wickets for Gloucestershire. The other is for the match v. Nottinghamshire 19th- 21st July with complete printed scores. Surrey scored 250 & 97/7, Nottinghamshire 97 & 247, Surrey winning by three wickets. A.P. ‘Bunny’ Lucas, then aged 20, scored 115 opening the batting for Surrey in their first innings. He also took eight wickets in the match. Both scorecards printed by John Sharp of Ludgate Hill. Horizontal fold to both cards, the Nottinghamshire card with some age toning, otherwise in good condition.
