Cricket scarves and handkerchiefs c.1950s onwards. A good selection including eleven ladies’ headscarves in silk or acetate. Subjects include England v Australia 1876-1938 with roundels describing each Test series played in England and Australia, M.C.C. colours to borders. ‘Len Hutton’ by Kaydelon, two versions, one on white background, the other grey, with attractive and colourful scene of a cricket match in progress with players and spectators. To one corner is a large cameo image of Len Hutton in batting pose wearing cap, printed facsimile signature. Also ‘A Cricket Match Between Sussex and Kent’ in two colour schemes, maker unknown. Sussex C.C.C. ‘Hove Ground Centenary 1872-1972’. ‘Ladies Day Canterbury Cricket Week’, ‘Lord’s Cricket Ground’, ‘Royal Cricket Club’ (Blu di Balestra), ‘Jacqmar Sketch-Book at Lord’s’ and ‘Cricket Capers’ (Gim Renoir). Sold with three commemorative silk handkerchiefs, one for Jim Laker ‘The “All Ten” Test Match’ 1956, and two versions of Botham & Willis ‘The Test Match of the Century’ 1981, one printed on white, the other cream.
