Test and County signatures 1940s-1950s. Two autograph albums comprising a comprehensive collection of autographs. The signatures, mainly in ink, signed to pages or pieces/ album pages laid down. One album, wrapped in brown paper, comprises pages dedicated to touring teams, including New Zealand 1949, 17 signatures including Reid, Sutcliffe, Scott, Hadlee, Cave, West Indies 1950 (16) Goddard, Worrell, Valentine, Gomez, Walcott, Weekes, Ramadhin, Valentine, South Africa 1951 (17) E. Rowan, Melle, McGlew, A. Rowan, Mansell, van Ryneveld, and India 1952 (18) Hazare, Umrigar, Shinde, Roy, Ramchand, Mankad, Manjrekar etc. Also pages dedicated to counties including Derbyshire (15 signatures), Essex (11), Glamorgan (7), Gloucestershire (2), Hampshire (12), Lancashire (14), Northamptonshire (5), Nottinghamshire (1), Somerset (10), Surrey (8), Sussex (20), Warwickshire (12), Worcestershire (18) and Yorkshire (12). England players featured separately include Hendren, Bowley, Tate, Todd, Lee etc. Other sports featured are tennis including the Italian Davis Cup team 1950 (4), also broadcasting, stage and screen, and a nice ink signature of King George V on piece. The other smaller album contains a good selection of approx. sixteen individual signatures in ink of England Test players on loose album pages slipped in including Gibb, Carr, Young, Shackleton, Lock, Parks, Doggart, Bailey, Laker, Watkins, Kenyon, Jenkins, Compton etc. Also, to pages, earlier signatures of Hobbs, Hendren, A. Gilligan, Tate etc. Both albums with general wear, some signatures clipped from pages, overall in generally fair condition.
