Padwick 83. Some minor wear and slight bowing to boards otherwise in good condition. Sold with three oversize hardback titles, ‘British Sports and Sportsmen’. Compiled and edited by ‘The Sportsman’, London 1917. Volume 1. Cricket & Football. Leather bound limited edition no. 657/1000, gilt to page edges. Series of large photogravure portraits of famous cricketers with biographical details including Grace, Hawke, Harris, Ranji etc. Some rubbing to boards, otherwise good. The book was presented to Kent C.C.C. by a former President (1935) A.C. Leney JP with typed inscription to front end paper and two copies of ‘Famous Cricketers & Cricket Grounds’. C.W. Alcock. London 1895, both with wear and fading to boards, one with replacement spine. Sold with six editions of Badminton Library, Duke of Beaufort. Editor. ‘The Badminton Library of Sports and Pastimes 1891-1896’. Five in publishers original bindings. Sporting subjects covered are: Shooting, Cricket, Fishing, Mountaineering, Tennis and Athletics. Many with presentation inscriptions to Kent C.C.C. to front. All books with some faults.
