Signed miniature bats 1938/39- 1990s. A selection of nine miniature bats. Four are signed including one from the M.C.C. tour to South Africa 1938/39 by Geo. Dalton & Son, Durban ‘Zephyr’ 14”, signed in ink to the face by fifteen members of the M.C.C. touring party including Hammond (Captain), Yardley, Valentine, Ames, Farnes, Goddard, Paynter, Wilkinson, Edrich, Verity, Hutton, Perks, Bartlett, Wright and Gibb. Also signed to the back by ten members of the South Africa team including Melville, Mitchell, Rowan, Nourse, Langton, Viljoen, Dalton, Grieveson, Newson etc. Other signed bats include an unbranded 12.75” bat signed by twelve members of the 1969 Victoria women’s team, a Slazenger ‘Super’ 17” bat signed by sixteen members of the 1976 West Indies touring party include Lloyd, Murray, Fredericks, Roberts, King, Holding, Kallicharran, Gomes, Richards, Daniel, Julien etc., and an ‘England’ 18” bat signed by sixteen England players c.1997 including Stewart, Hick, Gough, Fraser, Thorpe, A. Hollioake etc. Sold with five bats with facsimile signatures including two Gray Nicholls ‘Crusader’ bats, both 11.5”, one for South Africa 1955, the other England 1965, and three Slazenger/ Gradidge 17.5” bats for the ‘England Test Veterans’ reception given by Rothmans of Pall Mall in 1961.
