‘Derbyshire v. Essex Record Score’ 1929. Large original mono photograph of the Derbyshire opening batsmen, H. Storer and J. Bowden standing in front of the scoreboard having made a then record first wicket partnership in the match played at Derby 29th June- 2nd July 1929. The scoreboard shows the score at the fall of the first wicket of Derbyshire’s only innings at 322, Storer having been dismissed for 209, Bowden on 94no (he went on to make 120). The photograph measures 10”x12”, mounted, framed and glazed with handprinted title panel below the photograph. Overall 17.5”x21”. Photographer unknown. Minor surface marks, otherwise in good/very good condition.
Derbyshire made 418/4 declared in their only innings. Essex replied with 264 and, following on, held on for the draw, ending on 356/8.
