Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack 1873. 10th edition. Bound in brown boards, lacking original paper wrappers, with title and date in gilt to spine, red speckled page edges. Pages checked, complete. From the collection of ‘Charles W.A. Oakeley’. Handwritten annotation by Oakeley of lists of cricket teams and scores to the back of the title page, further lesser annotation to odd pages, light foxing to the title page and to the last page rough edge to the base of the book block at the rear of the book otherwise in good/very good condition. Rare. From the library of Earl of Sondes, the original owner of the ground at Canterbury. The ground was purchased by the county club from the 2nd Earl Sondes in 1896 and became Kent’s headquarters.
