Tapper was the first representative from Southland on the New Zealand Cricket Council when it was formed in 1894. Good condition. Padwick 3775/3787. Franks 806/893. A rare and early New Zealand publication
This is number five in Franks’ list of the 30 earliest New Zealand Cricket Publications. Three of the first five are club rulebooks, with the other being the ‘Auckland Cricketers Trip to the South’, the only publication preceding this to describe New Zealand cricket matches. Franks did not find a copy of this in any New Zealand library or private collection, the only copy he traced being in the M.C.C. Library at Lord’s. This book describes and gives the scores of the sixteen matches between Canterbury and Otago between 1864 and 1879.
