Signed presentation cricket books 1950s-1980s. A selection of nineteen original hardbacks with dustwrappers (one exception) from the collection of the sports journalist and author, Gordon Ross. All titles have the bookplate of Ross and are signed by the author, three by Ross, the remainder are presentation copies from the author to Ross. Titles by Ross are ‘The Testing Years’ 1958, ‘A History of Cricket’ 1972, and ‘A History of West Indian Cricket’ 1976. Presentation copies with dedications include ‘The Fight For The Ashes 1953’ and ‘... 1956’, Peter West. Two by Bill Edrich ‘Cricketing Days’ 1950 and ‘Round the Wicket’ 1959 (lacking dustwrapper). Two by Ian Peebles, ‘Bowler’s Turn’ 1960 and ‘Straight from the Shoulder’ 1968. ‘10 for 66 and all that’, Arthur Mailey 1958, signed by Ken Barrington. Two by Jack Fingleton, ‘Brightly Fades The Don’ 1950 and ‘Fingleton on Cricket’ 1972. Two by A.A. Thomson, ‘Pavilioned in Splendour’ 1956 and ‘The Great Cricketer’ 1957. Other signatures include E.W. Swanton, Richie Benaud, Clive Lloyd, George L. Greaves and Tony Greig. Good/ very good condition.
