Cricket large format books, scorecards and tour guides. Three titles including two volumes of ‘Cricket of To-day and Yesterday’, Volumes I & II, Percy Cross Standing, London 1902. Original decorative green cloth covers with gilt titles and batsman illustrations to covers and spines, contained in modern green slipcase. Signed bookplates of Bob Appleyard to inside front covers of both volumes. Some wear and staining to covers, otherwise in good condition. ‘Famous Cricketers and Cricket Grounds’, C.W. Alcock, London 1895, rebound in modern green cloth with original front cloth laid down, lacking original wrappers, title label to spine. Good condition. Also ‘”W.G.” Cricketing Reminiscences and Personal Recollections’. London 1899, minor wear. Sold with a selection of fifteen original scorecards including England Test matches v New Zealand, The Oval 1937, v Australia, Lord’s 1938, v Australia, Headingley 1948, v New Zealand, Lord’s 1949, v Pakistan, The Oval 1954, v West Indies, Headingley 1963, and nine for Surrey ‘home’ matches 1936-1954. Also three official tour guides for Australia 1948, New Zealand 1949, both edited by A.W. Simpson, West Indies 1950 (Playfair/ Peter West) etc. Some faults, overall in good condition.
