Rugby League. Castleford R.L.F.C. 1935. Original official mono photograph of the Castleford team and officials in a studio setting, depicted seated and standing in rows, the players wearing rugby attire. The photograph by Scriven of Castleford measures 8”x5”, laid to official photographer’s folding card mount. The team beat Huddersfield in the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium 4th May 1935, winning 11-8. Light wear and creasing to the mount, the photograph in good condition. A nice image.
This was Castleford’s first Challenge Cup win and the first time Huddersfield had lost in six Final appearances.
