William Gilbert Grace. Original Coalport porcelain plate commemorating W.G. Grace’s Century Of Centuries 1895, decorated in blue with central portrait of Grace and dates of each individual century and who scored against radiating out from the centre with semi-gadrooned rim. 9” diameter. Coalport stamp in blue to the back of the plate, ‘In Commemoration of Dr W.G. Grace’s Century of Centuries 1866-1895’ in blue. Very good condition. Rare
W.G. Grace completed his one hundreth century by making his highest first class score of 288 v Somerset in the game in the match, Somersetshire v Gloucestershire, played at the Ashley Down Ground, Gloucester on Friday May 17th 1895
