Cricket at Scarborough 1936-1938. Three mono real photograph plain back postcards of Yorkshire teams, the players standing in one row wearing cricket attire, the pavilion and crowds in the background. Teams are H.D.G. Leveson-Gower’s XI for the match v India, 9th- 11th September 1936, and two M.C.C. teams, both v Yorkshire, 1st- 3rd September 1937 and 3rd- 6th September 1938. Titles handwritten in ink to lower borders, players’ names annotated to verso of all three postcards, including Holmes, Nichols, Dempster, Griffith, Gover, Brown, Hendren, Wellard, Townsend, Sutcliffe, Garland-Wells, Wyatt, Baxter, Wilcox, Levett, Pearce, Sims, Edrich, Allen, Farnes etc. All three with official stamps to verso for Walkers Studios, Scarborough. Very good condition.
