Edward Lambert ‘Ted’ a’Beckett. Victoria & Australia 1927-1932. Single page handwritten letter from a’Beckett to E.G. Wolfe, brother-in-law of Sir Julien Cahn. Written on Midland Grand Hotel, London headed notepaper, the letter is undated but likely to be 1930 when a’Beckett toured England for the only time. He apologises for not collecting autographs of all the Australian team. Nicely signed ‘E.L. a’Beckett’. Horizontal fold, otherwise in very good condition.
Ted a’Beckett had a short Test career playing in only four Tests for Australia 1928-1931, including one on the 1930 tour to England. He retired from first-class cricket aged 25 to concentrate on his career as a barrister.
