‘A Royal Road to Cricket by an old Sussex Cricketer’. W.A. Bettesworth. Iliffe & Son, London 1891. Dedicated to Lord Sheffield. Original pictorial card wrappers with replacement cloth spine. Illustrated throughout by Bettesworth. 24pp plus adverts. Padwick 6838. Wear, tear and soiling to wrappers with tape repairs to inside back cover, internally in good condition.
Walter Ambrose Bettesworth played twenty two matches for Sussex 1878-1883. Later he published three cricket books and was assistant editor of ‘Cricket a Weekly Record of the Game’ 1896-1905.
