‘Scores of the Apsley Park Cricket Club’ 1886-1893. Eight volumes of match scores, averages and rules for each of the eight seasons bound together in one volume in contemporary blue calf and marbled boards, marbled page edges. Padwick 1937. Stamp of ‘Arthur F. Tooke’ to inside front board. Some rubbing to spine and cover extremities, otherwise in good/ very good condition.
Apsley Park played its home matches on the Durdham Down ground in Bristol where Gloucestershire played its inaugural first-class match in 1870. Arthur Tooke was a regular player and served variously as vice-captain, committee member and vice-chairman.
