Douglas Robert Jardine. Oxford University, Surrey & England 1920-1934. Two page handwritten letter from Jardine to Ron Yeomans, collector and Secretary of the Northern Cricket Society. Written on ‘The Scottish Australian Company’ official letterhead and dated 26th March 1956, Jardine is writing to accept an invitation to attend a function in Leeds on 11th July and ‘propose the toast of the Australians’. He goes on to point out that ‘No doubt you know that the Australians are pretty strict about accepting dinner invitations, but perhaps as you will have the President of M.C.C. in the Chair they may make an exception. Beautifully signed ‘Douglas R. Jardine’. Light folds, otherwise in very good condition.
