West Indies tour of Australia 1960/61. Trans-Australia Airlines four page folding itinerary for the tour with titles to front cover, tour fixtures to the two inside pages and the touring party is listed to back cover along with T.A.A. Office addresses and phone numbers. Signed in ink across the inside fixtures pages by all sixteen playing members of the party. Signatures are Worrell (Cpt), Alexander, Dewdney, Gibbs, Hall, Hendriks, Hunte, Kanhai, Lashley, Nurse, Ramadhin, Smith, Sobers, Solomon, Valentine, Watson and Gomez, The itinerary was given and sent to the vendor by the West Indian Captain Frank Worrell, the vendor had written to him from his home in Rhodesia in 1960, so this was possibly Worrell’s copy. A full set of signatures from this tour are rarely seen, it was probably the most famous after the Bodyline tour of 1932/33. Some adhesive marks to the covers, vertical crease otherwise in good condition
The 1960/61 tour was very closely contested and was notable for the celebrated tied Test at Brisbane, the first of only two such results in over 2000 Test matches played to date, the second occurring in 1986. The five match series came down to the deciding fifth Test which Australia won by two wickets. Hugh crowds attended the Tests and the streets were lined to bid farewell to the West Indian tourists at the end of the tour
