Pakistan inaugural tour to England 1954. Official scorecard for the 4th (final) Test at Kennington Oval, 12th- 17th August 1954 with complete printed and neatly handwritten scores in ink. Pakistan (133 & 164) beat England (130 & 143) by 24 runs. Fazal Mahmood took six wickets in each innings, twelve in the match for Pakistan. Signed in ink in later years by eight Pakistan players including Waqar Hasan, Alim-ud-din, A.H. Kardar, Imtiaz Ahmed, Khalid Wazir, Fazal Mahmood etc. Horizontal fold and minor staining, otherwise in good condition. Sold with an original press photograph of members of the Pakistan team standing outside the Queen’s Hotel, Manchester, wearing suits in front of limousines. Signed in black ink to the photograph by Imtiaz Ahmed and Khalid Wazir. The photograph by Kemsley Newspapers of Manchester, date stamped 11th July 1954, 8.25”x6.25”. Good condition. Qty 2.
Going in to the final match of the four Test series, England were leading 1-0 with two matches drawn. By winning the Oval Test, a low scoring match, the series was tied 1-1.
