A.C. MacLaren’s England tour to Australia 1901/02. Large original mono photograph of the match in play in the 4th Test, Australia v England at Sydney, 14th- 18th February 1902. The partially visible scoreboard indicates this is England batting on the first day, Hayward having been dismissed for 41, A.C. MacLaren and J.T. Tyldesley batting, with Australia’s Jack Saunders bowling. Large crowds in the background are in attendance. The photograph, laid to tightly trimmed mount card, measures 16.5”x9.75”. Photographer unknown. Some silvering and minor wear to edges, otherwise a nice image in good condition.
Australia won the 4th Test by seven wickets. Australia won the five match series 4-1 to retain the Ashes.
