England v Pakistan 1967 and the ‘The Horlicks Awards’ sponsorship of the Test series. Official mono photograph of the Pakistan touring party seated and standing in rows wearing tour blazers. The photograph measures 12”x10”, laid to photographer’s mount with printed title and players’ names to mount borders. Nicely signed in black ink to the mount by eighteen members of the touring party. Signatures are Hanif Mohammad (Captain), Saheed Ahmed, Intikhab Alam, Majid Jahangir Khan, Arif Butt, Asif Iqbal, Mohammad Ilyas, Pervez Sajjad, Ghulam Abbas[?], Mushtaq Mohammad, Salahuddin, Fasihuddin, Javed Burki, Wasim Bari, Niaz Ahmed, Saleem Altaf, I.A. Khan (Manager) and Bashir Ahmad (Treasurer). Minor smudge to two signatures otherwise in very good condition. Some signatures are dedicated to ‘Peter’, being Peter J. Brown who worked for Lexington International, the public relations agency who organised the ‘Horlicks Awards’ programme for this and other tours in 1966 and 1967. Framed and glazed, overall 18.5”x14.5”. Photographer unknown. Sold with three official mono photographs, each approx. 9”x6”, of winners of ‘The Horlicks Awards’ for two of the three Test matches played, one signed. One from the 1st Test at Lord’s features award winners Hanif Mohammad, Ken Barrington (Batsman of the Match), Asif Iqbal, Saleem Altaf and Ken Higgs (Bowler of the Match), also Robin Hobbs, Basil D’Oliveira and W.R. Bowden, Director of Horlicks Ltd. From the 3rd Test at Kennington Oval, Tom Graveney, Ken Barrington, (Batsman of the Match), Hanif Mohammad, Asif Iqbal (Batsman and Bowler), Ken Higgs (Bowler), Brian Close (Fielder) and W.R. Bowden. Also one of Mushtaq Mohammad and Asif Iqbal laid to mount and nicely signed in black ink to lower mount border with dedication ‘To Peter’ by both players. Very good condition.
England won the three match Test series 2-0 with one drawn.
