‘South of England v Australia. September 1912’. Triangular Test tour. Rare and early original sepia photograph of the Australian and South of England teams and dignitaries taken together at the tour match played at Hastings, 9th- 11th September 1912. Players noted include Hobbs, Woolley, Chaplin, Relf, Vine, Hitch, Gregory, Bardsley, Mayne, Macartney, McLaren etc. and others including A. Ducros with wife and son seated front centre, W.E.F. Cheeseman, founder of the Hastings Cricket Week. The photograph laid down to mount with handwritten title to lower border. Official stamp for F.J. Parsons of Hastings to verso. The photograph measures 6”x4.25” and overall 9.5”x7.5”. Originally from the Hastings C.C. collection, previously sold by Knights in July 2008. The photograph with slight uneven fading, minor wear to mount, otherwise in good condition. A nice image.
