Players featured and signatures on larger photographs are W. Hammond, K. Farnes, R.E.S. Wyatt, D.C.H. Townsend, E.R.T. Holmes, Maurice Leyland (M.C.C.), C.V. Wight, F. de Claires, A. A good number of photographs are either annotated to the front or to the verso with biographical commentary on the featured player. Also tipped in is a handwritten letter to a Mr Sheffield, dated ‘Sept 2nd’, from D.C.H. Townsend who has ‘autographed the photographs as you asked me. I think I remember them being taken by a lad a few years younger than myself’. All photographs loosely mounted to pages. Good/ very good condition.
The first of the two tour matches played was drawn. In the second, British Guiana were bowled out for 188 and M.C.C. unusually declared their first innings at 41/5. They then bowled out British Guiana for 57 and reached the target of 205 for the loss of only one wicket (Townsend 93no, Hammond 106no) to win by nine wickets.
