Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack 1916. 53rd edition. Original hardback. Dulling to gilt titles on the spine paper otherwise a lovely example of this rare wartime hardback edition and probably the rarest of the 20th century editions. Presentation inscription to top of the yellow title page ‘Denstone College Library from A.W. Shelton, February 1916’. Very good/excellent condition
A.W. Shelton was a book collector who wrote about Nottinghamshire C.C.C. and served as President of Nottinghamshire Cricket Club. He also assisted in the sale of Ashley-Cooper’s unrivalled collection to Sir Julien Cahn on his death
