Football autograph album 1937-1939. Larger format album comprising over three hundred signatures in ink and pencil of footballers, some cricketers and the odd boxer and tennis player, the majority signed individually to laid down pieces, clipped cuttings, photographs, cigarette cards etc., with some teams to album pages. A good number of teams are organised by pages. Clubs featured include Brentford (16 signatures), Blackpool (5), Grimsby Town (10), West Bromwich Albion (13), Arsenal (4), Bolton Wanderers (5), Portsmouth (14), Chelsea (11), Middlesbrough (6), Wolves (13), Stoke City (18), West Ham (11), Manchester City (18), Leeds United (13) etc. Also an album page nicely signed by ten members of the 1939 Middlesex team including Robins, Price, Brown, Edrich, Hulme, Compton etc., three of Derbyshire on pieces, Mitchell, Worthington and Smith, three of Surrey on pieces, Brown, Gregory and Holmes etc. The album measures 8.5”x6.5”. Some wear to pages, slight breaking to album internal hinges and page block, otherwise in good condition.
