Arthur Mailey. Australia tour to England 1930. Original folding menu for the ‘Visit of the Australian Cricket Team’ for the dinner held at Oatlands Park Hotel, Weybridge, Surrey, 25th May 1930 on the rest day of the tour match v Surrey at Kennington Oval. The menu, with printed title to front, green and gold ribbon tie, features to the inside a hand drawn cartoon of a lady in pencil by Arthur Mailey. On the facing menu page is a signature in pencil, ‘Kathleen Vaughan[?]’, possibly the subject of the drawing, which is signed by Mailey, ‘AM’. Minor soiling, otherwise in good condition.
Arthur Mailey was not a playing member of the Australian touring party in 1930 but attended as a commentator and writer on the tour.
